0995 PENSTEMON ELECTRIC
An outstanding vivid Blue Penstemon rated
in many Top Ten garden perennial lists. On
upright multiple spikes of bluer than blue, the
tubular flowers bloom for 4 weeks or more over
summer attracting bees, butterflies and beneficial
insects. Responds well to dead heading to
promote new growth.
One of the most beautiful Reddish Pink flowering
Passionflowers with the added bonus of having
tasty edible fruit. Native to Colombia. Best
grown up and over a pergola or archway so
that the pendulous flowers and fruit can be
fully enjoyed. Prune to suit your growing
frame as fruit is formed on new growth.
0996 PEROVSKIA BLUE SPIKE
Russian Blue Sage. Much admired tall fragrant
first year flowering heirloom with long feathery
deep sky blue flower spikes and contrasting
silver green foliage. If it comes from Russia, then
it’s incredibly hardy and able to withstand heat,
drought, cold temperatures and being knocked
about. Older stems become woody so give it a
good hard pruning as required.
Petunias are unequalled for masses of colour
for bedding, window boxes, hanging baskets,
colour bowls and pots, blooming reliably all
summer. Petunias require light for germination.
Covering seeds too thickly can inhibit germina-
tion. Sow the very fine seeds indoors.
1000 PETUNIA GRANDIFLORA
Big and beautiful Petunias! Huge 13cm double
blooms on compact plants in a well matched
colour blend of Mauves, Burgundys, Whites and
Pastel Pinks. Earlier to flower than other Petunias
and very heat tolerant over summer.
1018 PHACELIA DESERT BELLS
Commonly known as California Blue Bells and,
being a native to the deserts of that state, very
easy to grow. It has velvety dark green leaves
with stunning Cobalt Blue flowers that bloom
8 weeks after sowing. Beneficial insec ts seek it
out. Germinates at low temperatures, does well
in poor soils and looks great sown en masse.
Sow in spring for summer, summer for autumn
and autumn for spring flowering.
1020 PHACELIA LACY
A vigorous upright annual with finely cut leaves
and very dense curved spikes of fragrant
small, soft, Lavender-Blue bell-shaped flowers.
Competes well with weeds and looks extremely

1030 PHLOX SUGAR STARS
Eye catching and fragrant tall Phlox with star
shaped flowers in a striking Blue with White
stripes in the centre. Fabulous all season when
direct sown or planted in drifts in the border.
Makes a great cut flower - pick when 50% of the
flowers are open. Take care when planting as the
fine roots dislike being handled too much.

1040 POMEGRANATE ORANGE
A dwarf Pomegranate bred for growing in pots
as a small attractive ornamental, whether it
fruits or not. This great conversation plant is
long lived, thriving in humus rich soil in a sunny
sheltered position. Its size is governed by
the pot in which it grows, generally maturing
between 45 and 80 cm tall with colourful small
fruit appearing in late summer. Hardy to -10
degrees once established.

1050 POPPY BLACK SWAN
A spectacular Poppy with double and
semi-double blooms of darkest Plum, almost
Black flowers with deeply cut petals which
form fluffy balls. Sow in drifts to create an
eye-catching border. Easy to grow and best
sown direct in spring or autumn. Ornamental
seed pods when dried.
